Go Simone Episode 1: Cle-Anne Gabriel on Degrowth & Wellbeing Economies
Go Simone is the brainchild of the amazing Roxane Valier-Brasier.
On its website, Go Simone is described as an undisguised tribute to two French female change makers, Simone de Beauvoir and Simone Veil. "Go Simone highlights the key role women play in dreaming a better future, and championing climate action and justice in Australia and worldwide. Above all, Go Simone is an invitation to speak up, act and contribute to a greener world."
I was honoured to be the first episode of the GoSimone podcast in 2019. I enjoyed the opportunity to reflect and share my ideas and experiences with degrowth. The full podcast, including transcript, is available here. Roxane introduces the podcast with this blurb:
During our conversation, Cle-Anne Gabriel questions the compatibility between environmental sustainability and economic growth. Is a de-prioritisation of economic growth as a policy objective a way forward to reduce emissions globally?
Subsequent episodes feature even more amazing women, including Sabrina Chakori, Alana Mann and Rita Naumenko.
Happy Listening!
